A Chromebook for your kid for less than $100: As of Jan. 11, the Lenovo Chromebook 10e 2-in-1 is on sale for just $99 at Walmart, a 70% drop from its usual $334.
The Lenovo Chromebook Duet has been hailed as the ultimate tablet for school-age kids since its debut in 2020. But it's over $200 even on sale, and parents may be looking for less of an investment for a six-year-old.
In that case, Lenovo's lesser-known Chromebook 10e 2-in-1 is a great pick — especially when Walmart is basically handing them out for $99.
Measuring 10 inches diagonally, this Lenovo tablet provides a wider view than the iPad or iPad Mini, while still managing to weigh just over one pound. The crack-resistant Dragontail Pro Glass display makes games and learning content alike look great.
The "e" in this tablet's name signals that it's an educational device designed for little hands — specifically ones in kindergarten through second grade. It comes with access to problem-solving games and hands-on learning apps readily available on the Chrome platform. Kids can easily join a video call on the 2 MP front-facing camera or get familiar with typing on the magnetic keyboard.
Chromebooks are already kind of the gold standard for a kid's device. Everything created on them is cloud-based (so, not reliant on a kid remembering to hit "save,") while most everything done online or in an app is protected with its own sandbox.
