Fun Things To Do In Delaware County This Weekend For Families And Kids July 2nd, 3rd, 4th

A list of best things to do in Delaware County this weekend, July 2nd, 3rd, and 4th

What to do this weekend with your family? Here is a list of things you can enjoy with your family this weekend: Please call ahead before leaving your house to ensure the venue is still hosting the event. Due to the new COVID guidelines, many venues have cut back on the number of visitors they can allow.

On July 3rd and 4th, enjoy a picnic at the farm and celebrate our nation's birthday by hearing the Declaration of Independence and witnessing the crowd’s reaction. Watch the colonials make a demonstration against the king by burning him in effigy. See the loyalist reaction to this treasonous act. You are also welcome to show your loyalty by signing the Declaration. Other activities at the farm include hearth cooking, textile demonstrations, long rifle, garden and animal talks. Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic basket lunch, a comfortable chair or blanket and enjoy the Fourth as it was celebrated years ago on a true colonial farm in Chester County.

On July 4th Fish-for-Free Day allows anyone (resident or non-resident) to legally fish on Pennsylvania waterways on the designated days with NO FISHING LICENSE REQUIRED (Trout/Salmon and Lake Erie permits are also NOT required). All other fishing regulations still apply.

Media Recreation Board invites you to join them for their annual Independence Day Celebration on Thursday, July 4 from 10am-12pm.  It is a day of food, fun, and entertainment. Live performance by Silly Joe. There will be a water slide and games for the kids. There will also be a bike decorating contest for those that wish to participate.  For more information, please contact the recreation office at 610-566-5210 x255.

We are excited to bring live entertainment back to our beloved amphitheater this summer, and we're committed to keeping a healthy environment for our audience, entertainers, and staff members.  The Summer Festival in Rose Tree Park runs from June 26 to August 22 with concerts at 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays at the outdoor amphitheater in Rose Tree Park.

On the first Sunday of every month, the Barnes offers free admission and programming to its visitors. Guests can enjoy talks, performances, and hands-on activities throughout the day. Tickets are limited and must be reserved in advance.

Visit the whimsical world of Mo Willems and his cast of lovable characters, including best friend duo Elephant and Piggie, faithful companion Knuffle Bunny and The Pigeon, the wily city bird best known for his antics in Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!

Activities in the exhibition will give children the opportunity to make art that is inspired by Mo Willems and to learn about the social and emotional lives of the author’s popular characters.

Purchase your tickets in advance to pick your own favorite fruits at Linvilla Orchards.

Reel in fun and enjoy a day fishing at Linvilla's Orchard Lake!  Orchard Lake was originally constructed to provide irrigation water for some of the farm’s many crops.  However, creating a fishing destination was an equally important priority.  In 2004 trout fishing opened at Orchard Lake, and it has been a popular activity ever since.  Reserve tickets in advance.
