Bay Area Kids Weekend Events: July 9-11

This weekend catch a baseball game, go on a scavenger hunt or take a train ride! If you have leftover time (and more importantly energy!) the events below will quickly make a full, summer weekend.

San Francisco

StoryWalk in Presidio
Pages of a children’s book are put on signs and placed along the trail and families can walk and read the story, step-by-step and page-by-page in three different Presidio locations.

The festive family-friendly outdoor market features local farmers, ranchers, producers, food artisans, food trucks, amazing chefs, makers, merchants, artists, causes, live music and children’s activities.

Oakland Parks Scavenger Hunt
Get outdoors with friends and family, win great prizes and explore Oakland during the 2021 Parks Challenge. This is a free, fun for all ages scavenger hunt through Oakland’s beautiful parks, fun playgrounds, stunning open spaces and local natural landmarks.

Beach Break
Discover Del Valle’s West Shore swim beach through games, crafts and activities.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
A short storytime with a Naturalist reading Re-Cycles will be followed by a visit to the recycle station outside of the visitor center where kids will learn about items that can and can’t be recycled and other reusable options to decrease plastic usage.

Snoopy the Musical
Children’s Musical Theater of San Jose presents Snoopy the musical! The show contains over 15 toe-tapping tunes performed by Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy, Sally, Linus and the rest of the Peanuts Gang.

Take the Train to the Boardwalk
Departing from the Santa Cruz Mountains, travel through Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, down the scenic San Lorenzo River Gorge and through an 1875 tunnel before arriving at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

Talons and Friends
