Today we are going to be talking about task management and organizational app Epic Win! This app takes the traditional to do list app and gamifies it in a really cool way. The user can pick their avatar from a list of fantasy characters ranging from dwarves to skeletons to warrior priestesses.
Users set up their tasks or “quests” as they are called in the app, and as they accomplish them, collect loot along the way. Their character also levels up and earns new titles that reflect their experience in adventuring.
Setting up the tasks requires a lot of self-awareness because the app asks the user to assign the task experience points related to its difficulty level. If the task is easy, like hanging up their backpack, they might assign it 50 points. But if it’s something they think will be more difficult, like mowing the entire back yard, they may want to assign it more experience points. The app also asks the user what kind of task they are creating: Is it one which requires Stamina, Intellect, Spirit, Strength, or Social skills? The category chosen directly relates to the improvement of the character’s stats as they level up.
Finally, Epic Win helps with organization. If your child is constantly forgetting to take their homework to school or cannot remember what they need to do before playing with their friends, this app is a fun way for them to keep track of all this information. Users can even set up recurring tasks so that they do not need to enter something that happens several times a week, like sports or extracurriculars, every time they open the app. With an epic soundtrack and fun artwork, parents might want to give Epic Win a try themselves.
